ICON DEAD. With heavy hearts, we announce the passing.
Eric Carmen, lead singer of the band Raspberries, has died at the age of 74.
In a message on his website, the singer’s wife told people about his death.
In a statement, Amy Carmen said, “It is with great sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of Eric’s death.”
“Over the weekend, our kind, loving, and talented Eric died peacefully in his sleep. For decades, he was happy to know that his music had touched so many people. This will be his lasting legacy.
“Please give the family privacy while we grieve our terrible loss.” “Love Is Everything…” “Faithful and Forever,” she said.
Back in the 1970s and 1980s, Carmen was the group’s star.
Singer remembers Raspberries lead singer
On X, which used to be called Twitter, singer John Eddie paid tribute to Eric Carmen.
The artist wrote, “Sad to hear that Eric Carmen has died.”
“One of my favorite bands was The Raspberries.” If you like rock ‘n’ roll, Go All The Way is the perfect single. That’s why I bought their first album with the scratch and sniff sticker.
“One of my favorite albums of all time is The Raspberries’ Greatest Hits.” The album is pretty f*g great, even the songs that aren’t as good.
“I saw the Raspberries live at one of those AM radio fests.” It took place in Philadelphia at the Spectrum. Either WIBG or WFIL it was. It was about 99 cents for the ticket. Slade, The Raspberries, Jim Croce, Lou Reed, and Stevie Wonder were on the bill. it was crazy!
“There may have been other acts on the bill, but I’m old and only remember those.” Anyway, it’s a sad day for the child inside me who is now in his late forties. “May Eric Carmen rest in peace, and thanks for the raspberries,” he said.
Left behind by his wife
Amy Carmen, Eric’s wife, told everyone Monday that he had died.
He also leaves behind Kathryn and Clayton, his two children from a previous marriage.
